Saturday Premier League Predictions

The Premier League season is well established right now, with each team having registered ten games so far this season and it remains tighter than ever as it stands right now, with three teams tied at the top of the league on 23 points.

This weekend, Chelsea will face the test of Ronald Koeman’s Everton, whilst Arsenal and Tottenham will clash in a North London derby on Sunday afternoon. Here are my predictions for the footballing weekend in the Premier League.

Manchester City vs Middlesbrough – Saturday, 3pm kick-off (BST)

Premier League leaders Manchester City will face newly promoted Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, but the match up will come after facing Barcelona in midweek in the Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s side will not find the clash easy at the weekend, but with quality players such as Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne at their disposal, a comfortable home win is both expected and predicted.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Middlesbrough – Sergio Aguero to score first.

Argentine forward Sergio Aguero has been excellent in front of goal for Pep Guardiola's City side

Bournemouth vs Sunderland – Saturday, 3pm kick-off (BST)

David Moyes is struggling as Sunderland manager and is yet to record a win in this Premier League season. If that record is to continue, Moyes may find his time in the North East cut short in no time at all. Bournemouth on the other hand are playing attractive, attacking football and manager Eddie Howe has his side sat comfortably in mid-table so far this season. It will provide another difficult test for David Moyes and is one I do not see his Sunderland side passing.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-0 Sunderland – Callum Wilson to score first.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace – Saturday, 3pm kick-off (BST)

Burnley have managed to pick up a surprising four points from their last six available points, a surprising victory over Everton and a hard fought draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Crystal Palace struggled last time out against Liverpool and Burnley have made Turf Moor somewhat of a fortress so far this season, recording victories over both Everton and Liverpool on their own ground. They will face a difficult task against a Crystal Palace side that will play to its strength and I see the two teams cancelling each other out.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Crystal Palace – Christian Benteke to score anytime.

West Ham United vs Stoke City – Saturday, 3pm kick-off (BST)

West Ham had started to get themselves some momentum before their trip to Merseyside on Sunday, they’d won their last two in the league and overcome Chelsea in the cup, however, they looked weak and tired in their trip to Everton. Stoke on the other hand have put themselves in a good vain of form, unbeaten in their last five matches, including winning their last three games relatively comfortably. Both sides have changed play styles in recent years and will match good styles of football against each other, with Mark Hughes’ side edging the fixture.

Prediction: West Ham United 1-2 Stoke City – Wilfried Bony to score anytime.

Chelsea vs Everton – Saturday, 5.30pm kick-off (BST)

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have won their last four Premier League games without conceding a single goal, so Ronald Koeman’s Everton will face a difficult task at Stamford Bridge. Conte’s revolutionary three at the back formation has revitalized his Chelsea side after a struggling start to the season. They will come up against an Everton side that will adapt a defensive style of play and will look to counter using the pace of Yannick Bolasie and Kevin Mirallas, as well as the power of Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku. It will be a tight encounter with some high quality football played, but I see the home side just edging their northern visitors.

Prediction: Chelsea 3-2 Everton – Diego Costa to score first.

Spaniard Diego Costa is the leading threat for Conte's Chelsea
