Machado's Trio Homer Night
After Jeremy Hellickson gave up 4 homeruns in the first 2 innings, the O's looked like they were destined to loose. But, they slowing started chipping away at their deficit after Machado's 2 homeruns. As the 9th inning was fast approacing, the Orioles finally got something going. Three guys got on as Baltimore was trailing 7-5. Machado stepped up with the bases juiced. Batting .343 this month and 4 homeruns and 1 grandslam (including all homeruns before the 9th inning) Machado got the pitch he was looking for and drove it over the fence for the win! After the game Machado explained that," I got it. I was looking for a pitch and i got it. I made a good swing on it. Off the bat, I knew it was going far." With Manny so hot, could the O's make a late playoff push?
