Nashville SC: Fairground project moving along despite COVID-19

Despite MLS matches being put on hold and no sports taking place in the United States over the last three weeks, Nashville SC is determined to keep their stadium project going.

After the demolition project on the Nashville fairgrounds south of downtown was held up by Mayor John Cooper a few months ago, the budget for the project was ultimately approved and the staging for the stadium is well underway now.

After an additional $19 million was dedicated to the project, the tearing down of existing structures on the land went ahead nearly a month ago and now a week into April, the work continues.

The goal as of now is to have the stadium ready for the start of the season in the spring of 2022, and thankfully, the virus doesn't appear to be delaying that.

Nashville SC fans are hungry to see the boys in gold back on the pitch and hopefully, they can pick up their first-ever win in MLS soon.

As of right now, Major League Soccer is discussing starting back in mid-May, but as we all have seen, that could be pushed back if conditions change around the country.

Stay safe out there friends!
