Liverpool star Saido Mane: Ben Woodburn will become a Reds legend

Delighted with Ben Woodburn progress at Anfield, Liverpool speedster Saido Mane believes the 17-year-old could become a Reds legend. 

Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest goal scorer in the 2-0 win over Leeds United after netting a sumptuous goal in the 14th minute of his senior debut. 

At 17 years and 45 days, Woodburn broke Michael Owen’s record by 98 days and that has draw praises from Saido Mane who believes his future is brighter. 

Talking to Press Association Sport, Mane said:  “I want to congratulate him. He is a very good player and has a very good future.

“I hope he will keep going and working hard and I think he will be a great player. Everyone was happy for him to score his first goal, especially in a big atmosphere at Anfield.”

Liverpool are through to the Semi Final of the EFL Cup and will play Southampton next before reaching the final.
