The #18 ranked Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team kicked off the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational on Tuesday Night vs The Holy Cross Crusaders of the Patriot League at the Carrier Dome where they dominated from start to finish.

At the half, the Orange were up 49-23. They were 60.7% in Field Goal Percentage and had an impressive 53.8% 3-point shot percentage compared to Holy Cross' 38.1% in FGs and 41.7 % in 3-point. (Stats from Syracuse Orange Facebook photo) Andrew White III lead the Orange with 16 points at the half.

In the second half, 5 players, including White III, were in double figures points-wise, and the Orange dominated defensively with forcing 9 turnovers and 39 rebounds which 24 of the 39 were defensive (stats from espn.com). They were able to hold Holy Cross to just 46 points (They had held Colgate to 55 points in the season opener) in the 90-46 Win.

Andrew White III lead the Orange overall with 19 points (16 in the first half, and 3 in the second), 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in the game and Tyler Lydon, who was only allowed 2 points vs Colgate, had 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist. The Syracuse Orange Official Facebook Page announced about 2 hours ago that Lydon was named Skaneateles Jewelry Player of the Game for his effective performance.

Here is a short player profile about Andrew White III to get to know him a little better on and off the court. Andrew White III, a transfer from Nebraska, grew up in Richmond, Virginia. In his freshman and sophomore basketball seasons, he attended and played for the Kansas Jayhawks where he averaged 2.3 points per game. For the only season, he was with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Andrew White III averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Andrew decided to chose Syracuse over VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) to transfer and play his final season. Currently, Andrew has produced 10+ points in the two games played this season for the Orange.

Even though, most experts don't see Andrew White III being a major key player for the Orange right now, I expected to see him continue to play effectively on both sides of the court even if he isn't the leading scorer in every game.
