Seahawks Bring Troymaine Pope Back

Troymaine Pope, the undrafed running back who seemed to earn a roster spot in the preseason but was one of the Seahawks last cuts, has been re-signed to the practice squad. Seattle had hoped to sign Pope to the practice squad had he cleared waivers in September, but he was signed by the New York Jets. It might have been interesting to see Pope against the Seahawks when they went to New York for their game in Week 4, but Pope did not make his regular-season debut until two weeks later when the Jets played Arizona. He was released this week and signed by Seattle. Pope became available when New York released him to make room for Seahawks castoff C.J. Spiller. Ironically, Spiller made his Seattle debut in the win against the Jets. Spiller had come on to fill in for rookie C.J. Prosise who was out with a wrist injury. Spiller scored Seattle's first points in the victory at New York on a touchdown reception.
