Seahawks, Patriots, Sunday Night Ratings, and Prosise

You could say Sunday night’s 31-24 win at New England was an instant classic. It also took the first Seahawks-Patriots matchup since the Super Bowl in the 2014 season to give the Sunday-night show a lift. After downward ratings, Sunday Night Football recorded the best raking (14.3) for a Week 10 game in five seasons. And how great was it that Seattle won the game the way New England won Super Bowl XLIX, with a goal-line stand? But the most-encouraging news came on offense, where rookie RB C.J. Prosise made his first start of the season. His 66 yards on 17 carries don’t sound like much, but don’t overlook his seven catches for 87 yards as he led Seahawks receivers in receptions and yards. In post-draft workouts, the coaches assessment of Prosise was that he was capable of being a full-time player with either the backfield group or the receivers group. Seattle didn’t just lose a game-breaking running back with the retirement of Marshawn Lynch. Lynch was a 35-plus-catch receiver in back-to-back seasons 2013 and ’14. Prosise supplies a much-needed dual threat.
