What Firing Klinsmann Means

We all were expecting it, we all wanted it, but where do we go from here? The firing of Jürgen Klinsmann leaves the USMNT in uncharted territory. The team sits dead last in the hexagonal with 0 points following two defeats after the first two games, and now, they don't have a manager.

Why it happened

Don't get me wrong, Klinsmann is a great coach. He's taken the USMNT to heights it never thought it would have reached, and it's attained players it never would have had a chance at if it weren't for Klinsmann. Here's the thing though, it was clear Klinsmann had become stubborn and for the lack of better words, he didn't know what he was doing. The recent formations, the lineups, the players he called up, simply didn't make any sense and the results showed. Would the USA qualify if Klinsmann would have stayed? I'm not sure, he had a knack for doing things that seemed impossible.

Why it was a bad move right now

In the history of U.S. soccer there has never been a recruiter like Klinsmann. He's brought in players with dual nationalities and the team has thrived because of them. Guys like Fabian Johnson, John Brooks, and Matt Miazga, just to name a few. No other coach in our history has been able to bring in talent like that, and I firmly believe it was because of Klinsmann that we were able to obtain the one and only Christian Pulisic. Along with others, it was Klinsmann who did that and it is because of that, that our future looks bright because it's filled with so much young talent. Firing Klinsmann now means we have to hope and pray a couple other key players don't choose another nation now. Such as a Cameron Carter Vickers. Look, I'm not saying we can't be good without players like these, but let's be honest, it wouldn't hurt would it?

Where do we go from here?
The future looks uncertain. I'm not really sure where the USMNT go from here and if they do choose to go the route of Bruce Arena I fear it will be a fatal one. Simply because regardless of what he's  done for you in the past, you fired him for a reason, why hire someone you didn't deem fit for the job before? So he's coached in the MLS with some of the best rosters the MLS has seen, and now he's worth it again? I'm not buying it. He was just like Klinsmann, he was great at first, seemed to be a great marriage. Then he thought he was some kind of tactical genius, which lead to if not the worst, one of the worst showings in a World Cup we've ever had. I hope we go abroad again, pick someone with experience overseas in England, Netherlands, Germany, etc. Pretty please.
There's hope
Regardless of who gets chosen, they will have the talent to get the job done. With the arrival of Christian Pulisic and with the emergence of other young studs, the new manager will have everything he needs to take us to where we need to be. We have the players, we have the fans now, please give us the manager. "I believe that we will...." you finish the rest.
