It is after all "All about Marketing" for sports apparel companies--right? Though this idea we question---just a little bit.

Adidas is using two of their "Higher Profile" College Football teams to show off their "Latest and Greatest" football cleats--The Unearthed Freak X Kevlar cleat. The cleats are gaining recognition in large part because the striping "Glows in the dark".

Which is great for a night game. However both team sporting the shoes this weekend, Louisville and North Carolina State kick off their ACC battle at Noon.

We're thinking the glow will be pretty dim, the weather is supposed to be mostly clear and sunny in the Louisville area Saturday afternoon.

But hey, props to Adidas, they got peoples attention with the idea/premise here and bloggers like us are posting this story. The shoes are very obviously a gimmick and it's all about the marketing $$$. We get it. And hey, this is a good idea.

However it would be a better idea if the game were played in the dark. Or at the very least under the lights at night. Just sayin'....
