You can bet former Panthers cornerback Josh Norman is looking forward to the Panthers and Redskins game next week. Norman was franchise tagged by the Panthers in the off season. Then the Panthers unexpectedly withdrew the tag.

Josh Norman was reportedly distraught over this and tried to sign the tag but it was too late, Norman then signed with the Washington Redskins and started bashing the Carolina Panthers. With the Redskins still in the playoff hunt you can bet Josh Norman will be pumped to play his former team.

The Panthers let their fans think the money allotted for Josh Norman would be used to re-sign defensive tackle Kawann Short. That didn't happen because the Panthers were to cheap to get the deal done and Short didn't play well this season anyway.

I have to wonder if not signing Josh Norman is what drove the Panthers players into a funk this season. It has been plain that some of the Panthers players were not trying very hard (Kelvin Benjamin comes to mind) but the team has had a rash of injuries as well.

Cam Newton and Josh Norman got into a fight in training camp last season. You can expect they will be fired up to play each other. Norman loves to trash talk and that should fire up Newton to try to burn him a few times.
