Arian Foster Announces Retirement From the NFL
Arian Foster had another lower body, soft-tissue injury. Injuries just piled up - too many. So after a great run, Arian Foster is retiring.

Veteran running back Arian Foster has announced his retirement from the NFL today. It has been a long journey from being undrafted out of Tennessee in 2009 to spending several months on the Houstan Texans practice squad to becoming one of the best running backs in the game.
His final career stats are 6,527 rushing yards, 2,346 receiving yards and 68 total touchdowns across 80 career games. His best season was 2010, when he rushed for 2,220 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. Then in 2013 all the injuries and hard hits took a toll on his ability to play the game full-time. He sat out 23 games over a three year period.
In October of 2015 he went down with a torn Achilles and missed the rest of the season. The Texans released him March of 2016. The Miami Dolphins picked him up and he was announced their starter. However, it did not take long for the injuries to start limiting him again. He has been dealing with hamstring and groin issues.
Jay Ajayi appearing for the Dolphins and running incredibly well with two back-to-back 200-yard games means that Foster will not be the starting back even if he becomes healthy again.
Foster would have liked to play a few more seasons, but his body couldn't handle it. It is rare to see running backs make it passed thirty and still excelling in the NFL. Nonetheless he will go down as a legend.
