Travis Kelce Fined $24,309 for Throwing Towel at Referee

First of all, who comes up with this fine amounts. Why are they so specific like $24,309 and not just $24k or $25k? Besides the point, we knew a fine was coming for Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce. Per Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Kelce was fined $24,309 after he was ejected in the fourth quarter of the game last week.

Nick Foles threw a pass deep hoping to land in Kelce's hands, but the two Jacksonville defenders blocked the pass. Kelce was mad that the official did not throw a flag for a clear pass interference. He pulled the towel out of his pants and angrily threw it at the official. That forced him out of the game.

He later reflected on his actions:

"I felt like an idiot,'' Kelce said, per ESPN's Adam Teicher. "I can't do that to my teammates. I can't do that to the [fans], to myself. It was a terrible decision.''

The Chiefs beat the Jaguars and are now second place in the AFC West with a 6-2 record.
