The Rays just need one right handed bat and that is it?

The Rays signed 1B Logan Morrison to a 1 year, $2.5 million deal. They also added to minor league deals with Spring Training invites INF/OF Rickie Weeks, and RHPs Cory Rasmus and David Carpenter.

According to several MLB insiders, the Rays are still linked to Chris Carter, Franklin Gutierrez, Matt Wieters, and Mike Napoli. Wieters being the one who would suit the team the best because of his ability to play the catcher spot and possibly platooning 1B with Morrison and the DH spot with Dickerson as well.

Brad Miller will be moving to second base, while Matt Duffy will play shortstop since his original 3B is filled by someone by the name of Evan Longoria. Miller was seen working with Chad Mottola, hitting coach, in the UCF facilities, which gives the image of the hard work they've been putting together this offseason.

Nick Franklin and Tim Beckham are two very interesting names here only because of their versatility and what could be in the upcoming season. Expectation for them is to serve in the bench roles for the club since together they only have one more option remaining.

Kevin Cash, manager of the Tampa Bay Rays, will have a lot of options to play with this upcoming spring training to see where they will put guys like Beckham, Franklin, Weeks, and anyone else added to the mix.
