2015-2016 Season Summary: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters

Rain or Shine ended their streak of semifinals appearance this season but they also claimed their second crown in the PBA. 

Rain or Shine have a different vibe in the last conference and I suspect that it was due to the contract situations of the players and coach Yeng at that point. Nevertheless, they still won their second championship and it was amazing that they went over Ginebra, San Miguel and Alaska in the playoffs.

Was anyone surprise to see 25 total points in the bench points? Of course none, because coach Yeng doesn't give any weight on the starting spots. If you check the stats, you can see that the Elasto Painters invested heavily in their offense in in the Commissioner's Cup. You can see that their production was brought by their outside shooting which was 2.7 better than in the Philippine Cup.

I think, one of the primary reason why Rain or Shine was more than willing to exchange Paul Lee for the most marketable star in the league is the rising of Jericho Cruz. I am hoping coach Caloy Garcia will give him more than 25 minutes next season. 

Maverick Ahanmisi was also a good revelation. I see him as a light version of Stanley Pringle. He needs to further develop his finishing around the rim. Lastly, Jeff Chan has a good year. I saw him drive more this season but his shooting can still be improve. 

Life after coach Yeng Guiao will be hard but they still have the roster to compete.
