2015-2016 Season Summary: San Miguel Beermen

San Miguel Beermen was the mos successful squad in the 2015-2016 PBA season. Let us check what they did this season.

San Miguel was the dominant forced all throughout the Philippine Cup and it culminated into a Championship. They pounced on their rival Alaska by winning all their elimination round game and edging them in the Philippine Cup finals.

The Beermen got a huge uptick in their points production and points allowed during the Commissioner's Cup. I checked their numbers and I saw Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos posting awful defensive ratings. Three-pointers anchored around Fajardo has been their bread-and-butter. Their ability to get the lead early and finish the game well should be mention also.

CORE PLAYERS' STATISTICS
June Mar Fajardo: 19.7 Pts | 12.2 Rebs | 1.4 Blks | 57.3% FG
Arwind Santos: 12.4 Pts | 7.4 Rebs | 1.5 Blks
Marcio Lassiter: 13.0 Pts | 4.2 Rebs | 2.5 Asts | 41.1% 3FG
Alex Cabagnot: 14.3 Pts | 3.6 Rebs | 4.0 Asts | 34.2% 3FG
Chris Ross: 6.5 Pts | 3.6 Rebs | 4.8 Asts | 2.0 Stls

I am pretty sure you already heard all the praises that you can possibly apply to Fajardo so I will just remind you that he is only 27 years old. Marcio Lassiter has an up and down season but he still posted his best scoring average in the last 4 seasons and his best 3FG% in the last three seasons.

Now, the biggest line-up change that coach Leo did this season was shifting Cabagnot into the 2 position beside Chris Ross. Alex was able to post his best average in points in his career. Again, that was an adjustment made by coach Leo Austria.
