2016-2017: Each Team's #1 Regression Candidate

In every season, the fans, management and coaching staff of each team are not looking forward to a regression by one of their players. But, it always happen so who are the best candidate for each team?

ALASKA - SONNY THOSS
2015-2016 Stats: 8.3 Pts | 5.0 Rebs | 1.6 Asts

His production is in its way down and at 34 years old, that will continue to slide. Especially, if coach Alex limits his minutes.

BLACKWATER - REIL CERVANTES
2015-2016 Stats: 10.7 Pts | 2.6 Rebs | 32.8% 3FG

Reil is a volume scorer so he needs as much opportunity as possible and I don't think he will receive that this season.

GINEBRA - JOE DEVANCE
2015-2016 Stats: 6.6 Pts | 3.4 Rebs | 1.9 Asts

I don't think he still cares about curing the flaws in his game and he even talked about retirement in the past. Even his minutes could be cut into half with the arrival of Kevin Ferrer and Jamito.

GLOBALPORT - JR Quinahan
2015-2016 Stats: 11.7 Pts | 4.9 Rebs | 1.9 Asts

Baby Shaq played his best season last year so lower production is almost a guarantee this year. But, I expect him to shoot better, so maybe, 9 points, 4 rebounds 1 assist and 35% 3FG?

MAHINDRA - MARK YEE

2015-2016 Stats: 6.7 Pts | 4.9 Rebs | 44.2% FG

With a bigger load, I don't expect Mark Yee to sustain his per minute production. Their frontcourt has weaken also, due to the transactions that they made.

MERALCO - REYNEL HUGNATAN
2015-2016: 8.6 Pts | 3.9 Rebs | 39.7% 3FG

I enjoyed watching Papa Rey knockdown threes, last season, but even an outside shot will not be enough to stop the Father Time from winning.

NLEX - ASI TAULAVA
2015-2016 Stats: 13.9 Pts |10.3 Rebs | 2.1 Asts

The Rock gave father time a run for his money but I expect father time to finally win this season. Coach Yeng's arrival will help Asi survive but don't expect a double-double average.

PHOENIX - JC INTAL

2015-2016 Stats: 11.8 Pts | 5.1 Rebs | 36.1% FG

He needs to take as much shots as possible to be effective and the arrival of Matthew Wright could decrease that. Also, he suffered injuries again, last season, which will surely affect him.

RAIN OR SHINE - BEAU BELGA
2015-2016 Stats: 8.1 Pts | 5.2 Rebs | 1.8 Asts | 44.5% FG

Belga has an excellent year last season but with a new scheme, don't expect him to do it again. My fear is, the departure of coach Yeng could uncover the flaws of his game.

SAN MIGUEL - ARWIND SANTOS
2015-2016 Stats: 12.9 Pts | 7.9 Rebs | 1.8 Asts | 28.7% 3FG

Spiderman is putting up up a good fight against father time but turning 36 this season, I suspect him to slowdown. Early into his career, he anchored his play to his athleticism so I think it will catch up with him this year.

STAR - PJ SIMON
2015-2016: 12.7 Pts | 2.3 Rebs | 45.4% 3FG

Last season was basically the last hurrah of PJ Simon. I respect him for putting up those numbers at 36 years old but their depth in their backcourt will push PJ into a bench role and his age will finally win.

TNT - RYAN REYES
2015-2016: 6.7 Pts | 3.9 Rebs | 1.9 Asts | 37.8% 3FG

For a player who always play his 110% in each game in the last nine seasons, Reyes has managed to keep in pace last season. I think, this will be the year that his numbers plummet. Maybe, 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 33% 3FG in 20 minutes of play.
