The 42nd season is starting in less than a week so what about some sureball interesting predictions for the Philippine Cup?
I think the ultimate plan of the Star management is to remake the team with new and younger players. Unless they totally dominate the competition from the get-go, expect them to at least trade one of their four remaining prominent faces. Sangalang and Pingris are already part of some rumors and it could become reality in the next two months.
STAR - They will trade one of Simon, Barroca, Pingris and Sangalang
NLEX - Garvo Lanete will have the second or most minutes per gameHere was the statement of coach Yeng after their preseason game against Meralco. “Garvo (Lanete) is tailor made for the system that we run. He can drive to the basket and has good range from the outside. He's smart and steady. He's a combo guard able to play the one or the two... I’m also happy with his defense because of the energy he brings and the ability to contain his man.”
PHX - They will not make the playoffsI don't think coach Ariel can build any defense with his squad. Their offense will be shaky because the chemistry is still not there.
ROS - One player will play 30 or more minutesAfter six seasons, I expect to finally see one Elasto Painter play at least 62.5% of each game. If I will predict, that will be Gabe Norwood because of his incredible defense. Jeff Chan could be that man too.
