The draft is over. Here is a rundown of the recent news.

Best Player Available?: Coach Chito Victolero explained his decision of picking Jalalon

A lot of Star fans were confused when their favorite team grabbed another guard. So, here was the explanation of coach Chito and his plan of using him. “I think he’s the best point guard in the amateurs, so we grabbed the opportunity na makuha sya... We can use Jio based sa style niya na defensive guard. He could also contribute sa offense with his passing. High energy siya at yung hustle niya, yun ang hinahanap namin at makakapagbigay ng ibang tempo at impact sa team namin.”

First things first, it is true that he could be the best amateur point guard in the country but is he the best player available when it is your time to draft? And what is the point of getting the best amateur point guard if you already have one of the top 3 point guards in the whole country, Mark Barroca?

I don't think Jio will be an above-average defender early into his career and if you talk about hustle, Justin Melton and Barroca have been providing that for the last two years. Alex Mallari is already gone, who is next?

Sad: Kiefer Ravena is not part of the training camp roster of Texas Legend

Kiefer chose to chase his NBA dream and it seems like he hit a wall today. In the website of the NBA D-League team, Ravena was not part of the 17-players that will take part on the training camp.

That was the planned first step of his NBA dream so if with this news, Kiefer may need to seek an alternative route. I guess, he could try out for other teams but we will see.

Not done yet: Mark Caguioa signs a two-year deal
The 36 years old superstar is not going anywhere soon as he inked a new two-years deal which means he will be able to play until he is 38. He signed a deal close to the maximum, as reported.

The presence of a superstar veteran should help them in guiding their young promising prospects. But at this point of his career, Mark Caguioa is not a 20 minutes players anymore.

Team Changing: Lutz is on his way to Meralco?
Factuality Meter - 40%

According to a source, Lutz could be the next one to go from the extra-loaded guard/wing rotation of the Beermen. The rumored destination is Meralco who could also be having an extra-loaded guard/wing rotation if this trade push through.

One thing is sure though, Lutz will be having more minutes with the Bolts. Lutz has been frustrated by injuries and playing time issues in his career so a change in scenery could bring back the nastiness of his game. Is this true, then? I am not totally buying it yet.
