2017 NFL Power Rankings: Week 3

What a crazy week it was, you had several upsets and an controversial ending in the Detroit/Atlanta game that as left a bad taste for Lions fans. The Falcons edged out the Lions 30-26. The Lions had appeared to scored a touchdown (Golden Tate) with 12 seconds left but the referees reversed the call on the field and there was a ten second run off and the game was over.

Last Thursday night, the Rams barely survived against the 49ers in the highest scoring game of the year so far winning 41-39. The Jaguars smashed the Ravens in London, 44-7. The Colts, Eagles, Patriots and Packers all won by three points. The Eagles won in dramatic fashion as rookie kicker, Jake Elliott kicked a 61-yard field goal to win the game over the Giants. The Jets (beat the Dolphins), the Bills (beat the Broncos), the Bears (beat the Steelers) and the Redskins (beat the Raiders) were the four biggest upsets of the day. The Saints, Vikings, Titans, Chiefs and Cowboys all won too.

(Season Record), [Previous Week's Ranking], {+, - & =}

1. Kansas City Chiefs, (3-0), [2], {+1}; Beat the LA Chargers, 24-10. Next Game: Vs. Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.

The Chiefs are right now the best team in football, they've been the most consistent team so far.

2. Oakland Raiders, (2-1), [1], {-1}; Loss to the Redskins, 27-10. Next Game: @ Denver Broncos.

The Raiders looked awful against the Redskins on Sunday Night football, but they're still one of the top teams in the NFL.

3. New England Patriots, (2-1), [5], {+2}; Beat the Texans, 36-33. Next Game: Vs. Carolina Panthers.

The Pats haven't looked back since they loss to the Chiefs on opening night. They've haven't played great but they found away to win against the Texans.

4. Atlanta Falcons, (3-0), [4], {=}; Edged out the Lions, 30-26. Next Game: Vs. Buffalo Bills.

The Falcons beat the Lions but they got lucky that the referees were dumb.

5. Green Bay Packers, (2-1), [8], {+3}; Edged out the Bengals 27-24. Next Game: Vs. Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football.

The Packers came back from 14 down at home to the lonely Bengals but they found away to win.

6. Detroit Lions, (2-1), [7], {+1}; Loss to the Falcons, 30-26. Next Game: @ Minnesota Vikings.

The Lions got robbed plan and simple. They should of beat the Falcons.

7. Denver Broncos, (2-1), [6], {-1}; Loss to the Buffalo Bills, 26-16. Next Game: Vs. Oakland Raiders.

The Broncos offense isn't what's gonna carry this team, it's gonna beat their defense that does.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers, (2-1), [3], {-5]; Loss to the Chicago Bears, 23-17 in Overtime. Next Game: @ Baltimore Ravens.

If the Steelers want to be one of the best teams in the NFL they need to win these games against the weak teams. They've been a very inconsistent team over the last few seasons.

9. Tennessee Titans, (2-1), [14], {+5]; Beat the Seattle Seahawks, 33-27. Next Game: @ Houston Texans.

Are the Titans for real? We shall see over the next several weeks if they can win the big games.

10. Dallas Cowboys, (2-1), [15], {+5}; Beat the Arizona Cardinals, 28-17. Next Game: Vs. LA Rams.

How bout them Cowboys!!! They're showing why they were one of the best teams in football last year but can they keep it going.

11. Philadelphia Eagles, (2-1), [18], {+7}; Beat the Giants, 27-24. Next Game: @ LA Chargers.

The Eagles got lucky this week when rookie kicker, Jake Elliott nailed a 61-yard game- winning field goal.

12. Washington Redskins, (2-1), [19], {+7}; Beat the Oakland Raiders, 27-10. Next Game: @ Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

The Redskins Defense shutdown one of the best offensive teams in football. They looked really impressive.

13. Arizona Cardinals, (1-2), [12], {-1}; Loss to the Dallas Cowboys, 28-17. Next Game: Vs. San Francisco 49ers.

The Cards should be 0-3 but got lucky with an overtime win last week against the Colts. They've been bad so far this season in fact this was their best game played.

14. Minnesota Vikings, (2-1), [17], {+3}; Beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 34-17. Next Game: Vs. Detroit Lions.

The Vikings are another team that's inconsistent. I think they're an average team at best. The defense will probably win them some games. The Offense is to inconsistent and probably will cost them some games.

15. Seattle Seahawks, (1-2), [11], {-4}; Loss to the Tennessee Titans, 33-27. Next Game: Vs. Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football.

The Seahawks offense finally shows up out of nowhere but it wasn't enough to get their second win.

16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, (1-1), [13], {-3}; Loss to the Minnesota Vikings, 34-17. Next Game: Vs. New York Giants.

Who are the Bucs? They win big at home and then get blown-out on the road against the Vikings. Yes it's only two games but still they have no bye week and have 14 straight games to play.

17. Baltimore Ravens, (2-1), [9], {-8}; Loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 44-7. Next Game: Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens must of stayed back home in the US because they didn't show up in London, England against the Jags.

18. Jacksonville Jaguars, (2-1), [23], {+5}; Beat the Baltimore Ravens, 44-7. Next Game: @ New York Jets.

The Jags should just move to London LOL! Who saw that coming a blowout against the Jags. Fans including myself thought it would be the other way around.

19. Miami Dolphins, (1-1), [10], {-9}; Loss to the New York Jets, 20-6. Next Game: Vs. New Orleans Saints.

What the Hell happen to the Dolphins? They scored six points against the Jets really!

The Bills have allowed 12.3 points per game which leads the NFL.

23. Carolina Panthers, (2-1), [15], {-8}; Loss to the New Orleans Saints, 34-13. Next Game: @ New England Patriots.

Despite the Panthers having just given up 34 points they've allowed 13.3 points per game which is second in the NFL.

The Colts are allowing the second most points per game (30.0) in the NFL.

The Chargers are 18th in the NFL in total yards per game averaging 315.3 per game.

28. Cincinnati Bengals, (0-3), [28], {=}; Loss to the Green Bay Packers, 27-24. Next Game: @ Cleveland Browns.

The Bengals are 31st in total yards per game in the NFL only averaging 272.3 per game.

29. New York Giants, (0-3), [26], {-2}; Loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-24. Next Game: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Giants are 30th in points per game in the NFL averaging 12.3 per game.

30. New York Jets, (1-2), [32], {+2}; Beat the Miami Dolphins, 20-6. Next Game: Vs. Jacksonville Jaguars.

The team that wanted to go 0-16 actually won a game WOW! What happen to tanking for the number pick haha!

31. San Francisco 49ers, (0-3), [T.30], {-1}; Loss to the LA Rams, 41-39. Next Game: @ Arizona Cardinals.

The Niners showed some fight against the Rams coming back and making it a game. Brain Hoyer isn't their future quarterback that's clear as day.

32. Cleveland Browns, (0-3), [31], {-1}; Loss to the Indianapolis Colts, 31-28. Next Game: Vs. Cincinnati Bengals.

What else is there to say about the Browns! The Browns are allowing 25.3 points per game which is tied for fourth in the NFL!
