The NFL trade deadline was at 4pm today and the Philadelphia Eagles made the headlines this morning, as they acquired 24 year old Running Back, Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins for a 2018 4th round pick. Ajayi is not having a great season so far but he's still a very good running back a top 10-15 RB for sure. Ajayi is a very physical downhill running back that you can give to at the end of the game to close out a game, he wasn't behind a great offensive line in Miami. He was an elite running back last season, who had three 200+ yard games. He finished last season with 1,272 yards and eight touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles Players Tweets about the getting Jay Ajayi today:

My thoughts, are this trade is that we got a steal, we got a young running back for a 4th round pick and he's still under contract for few more years. Is this a deal that will put us over the top and win the Super-Bowl, I don't believe so because it's to early to say that (Plus don't want to jinx it) but it makes us better for sure when we were already the "best team" (best record) in the NFL. And one of the two favorites (Seattle being the other) to go to the Super-Bowl from the NFCm the New Orleans Saints are up there too just because of Drew Brees and Sean Payton.

I still think we have some other issues like at Left Tackle and Linebacker but we have a chance to go far this season and that's what matters is that we improved today for this season and the future. He wore out his time in Miami and that's probably why they only traded him for a 4th round pick they wanted to get rid of him so fast. Perhaps a new team that's winning will motivate him and hopefully it does. He's coming to a winning culture right now and can learn from LeGarrette Blount. Howie Roseman today you're the MAN! However, I'm disappointed that they couldn't get another tackle or linebacker to add to the depth. We needed a backup for Big V (Halapoulivaati Valtal) at Left-Tackle and another linebacker for depth. I'm excited to see all this play out the rest of the season into the playoffs (knock on wood)!
