"Trust The Process": Draft Lottery Night!
Tonight, before game two of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs we find out the draft order of the 2017 NBA Draft which takes place June 22, 2017. Thee Philadelphia Sixers have a chance to get two top 6 picks if the Los Angeles Lakers drop out of the top 3. They also can swap picks with the Sacramento Kings if they get a better pick than the Sixers.
The Sixers have been in the draft lottery every year since 2013, they have gotten number 11 (2013), number 3 (2014 and 2015) and the number one overall pick last season. What will be the fate tonight? Best Case scenario is the Sixers get number 1 (via Kings or our pick) and 4 (Lakers pick), the worst possible scenario is they get only the number 6 pick. Joel Embiid the Sixers' star Center will be in attendance tonight to represent the team. Can he be the good luck charm for us? Finally, hopefully this is the last year for a long while that we are in the top five with our own pick. In 2019, we have the Kings pick so it's very possible we could get a top five pick in 2019. This should be the end of the "Process" if everything goes our way tonight. My Prediction is we only get number 4.
