NFL Week 4 Power Rankings

It was a crazy week in the NFL with surprise performances and unexpected blowouts. The top few may look the same, but overall, a lot has changed after an unforgettable third week of the NFL season.

1. Denver Broncos

First-year starter Trevor Siemian had the best game of his young career, tossing four touchdowns Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals to help the defending champs remain unbeaten. They haven't been dazzling us with flashy statistics offensively, but they're averaging 28 points per game which more often than not, will be enough to win a game in the NFL. Especially with their defense. With double-digit wins in each of their last two games, there's no reason at all to remove them from the top spot.

2. New England Patriots

If ever there was a team that makes a solid case for being No. 1 even with the defending champs remaining unbeaten, it's New England. Two quarterbacks have made their NFL starting debut this season for the Patriots and they still find a way to dominate. Their latest accomplishment being a 27-0 win over the Houston Texans last Thursday with rookie Jacoby Brissett leading the offense. The bad news: Brissett's name has been added to the injury list and it's still unknown whether him or Jimmy Garoppolo will be ready to go next weekend. If neither can play, there's a strong possibility of seeing emergency quarterback Julian Edelman get the nod behind center.

3. Minnesota Vikings

Mike Zimmer's squad has taken the difficult path to 3-0, losing starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in the preseason and running back Adrian Peterson in Week 2. Despite the hardships they've faced, they continue to amaze us with their outstanding defense and surprisingly efficient offense led by Sam Bradford. With wins over the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers, they've given themselves an early edge in the NFC playoff race.

4. Philadelphia Eagles

No team had more to prove than the Eagles in Week 3. Despite their 2-0 start under a rookie quarterback, they weren't getting the respect that they clearly deserved. I don't think many will be making that mistake anymore after their absolute dismantling of the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lincoln Financial Field. Rookie
Carson Wentz has looked like a 10-year vet through three starts, tossing five touchdowns with ZERO interceptions. He's the first rookie quarterback since 1960 to throw 30+ passes in his first three starts and win all of them. Oh, and I've yet to mention the defense who held the high-flying Steelers offense to three points. It's no fluke. The Eagles are for real.

Here's a peak at the highlights:

5. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have been the least impressive of the five unbeatens but unbeaten they remain, so until they lose, they should be considered one of the league's top teams. They've beaten three of the NFL's worst by a combined 13 points but again, they've won every game to this point. Looking ahead, they should realistically start 5-0 before facing the New York Giants, which should be their first true test.
Joe Flacco (3 TD, 4 INT) has been underwhealming in his return from a season-ending injury in 2015, so he'll have to be a lot better if Baltimore wants to remain among the AFC's best.

6.
Green Bay Packers

The best way to bounce back from a divisional loss in Week 2 is to beat another divisional opponent your next time out. Green Bay jumped out to an enormous lead on the Detroit Lions and managed to hold on for the win to improve to 2-1.
Aaron Rodgers is arguably the best quarterback in the league, which always keeps them very competitive. Minnesota's various injuries might also play a key factor in the divisional race, though it hasn't seemed to slow them down thus far.

7.
Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs always seem to be the forgotten team in the NFL, though under
Andy Reid, they're always around. They're getting it done the way they usually do, with Alex Smith being a smart, efficient passer and game manager. The defense is only giving up 14 points per game which will give you a chance any given Sunday. If they can just get a little more production out of Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West, they'll be right there with Denver down the stretch.

8.
Dallas Cowboys

In recent years, Dallas has absolutely imploded without
Tony Romo in the lineup. Well, he hasn't played yet in 2016, yet the Cowboys are 2-1. Rookie Dak Prescott has stepped in and done a nice job in his absence, having yet to turn the ball over. The defense is playing well enough to give the team a chance and if Ezekiel Elliott can work on the fumbling issues, he'll be a great back in this league for years to come.

9.
Pittsburgh Steelers

After sitting near the top of this list last week, the Steelers fell hard after a laugher in Philadelphia Sunday afternoon. The defense was picked apart by a rookie and the offense put forth their worst performance in recent memory. They're still 1-0 in the division and 2-1 overall so one bad loss won't define their season, but they'll need a bounceback performance Sunday night against Kansas City to keep things from spiraling downwards. It's also worth mentioning that
Le'Veon Bell will be returning from suspension and is available for their upcoming game.

10.
New York Giants

The Giants' defense is much improved from last season in their first year under head coach
Ben McAdoo and it's led to a 2-1 start. Eli Manning has been good but not great and the ground attack still struggles to get anything going. We'll find out what they're really made of over the next five games as they face teams with a combined record of 13-2.
