Broncos rookie quarterback Josh Allen has struggled the last two weeks after a breakout game on the road in Week 3 against the Carolina Broncos. Allen threw for 200 yards and a touchdown and added two more rushing touchdowns to lead the Broncos to the 27-6 upset win.
Allen was helped last week by Buffalo's running game that got going behind LeSean McCoy, who totaled 100-plus yards in total offense for the first time all season. He ran for 85 yards and made a key play on the final drive to help set up the game-winning field goal.

With a win Sunday against the Houston Texans (2-3) the Broncos would improve to .500 and firmly place themselves in the thick of the playoff race. If they lose Sunday the hole may be too deep to climb out of for a team led by a rookie quarterback still in the beginning stages of the development process.

Broncos coach Sean McDermott has been impressed with Allen's leadership ability and his competitiveness through the first few weeks of the season. Rams signed veteran backup Derek Anderson this week to help guide Allen and to bring some experience to the quarterback room.
