Ravens Roundup: Week 9

They're (almost) back! After two weeks off, Ravens football is finally back on Sunday. Here are the biggest storylines for week nine.

Fire up the Transaction Wheel

Yesterday the Ravens claimed cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals. A four-year veteran of the NFL, Lewis-Harris might be in line for some playing time versus the Steelers, as Shareece Wright is still out with an injury. Fellow CB Will Davis was waived to make room for him. Today, meanwhile, Baltimore activated 2013 first-round pick Matt Elam from the Injured Reserve and waived defensive back, Robertson Daniel. Like Lewis-Harris, Elam is likely to see playing time on Sunday.

The Ravens-Steelers Rivalry Is Alive and Well

Two weeks off from game action has apparently gotten Ravens players pretty anxious to return to the gridiron against their rivals. Not surprisingly, Baltimore's longest tenured player, Terrel Suggs, has been beating the drum the loudest. On Wednesday he made the rounds through various news sites for a witty comment made about Ben Roethlisberger's questionable availability on Sunday. From ESPN

"Don’t fall for that. I saw this movie before. He’s going to act like, ‘I’m not playing. I don’t know. I did individual today and threw a little bit. I still don’t know.' Then, he’s going to walk his big ass on out there. I’m going to be like, 'How you doin', Benjamin.'"

Then, on Thursday, Suggs reportedly had a talk with the team's newer players, giving them a synopsis of the rivalry and telling them that against the Steelers, the only thing more important than having a durable body is having a tenacious mind. Again, from ESPN

"These games will define you. You will never forget it. I remember every one -- every one, every big play, every dumb call, every personal foul. I remember all of them."
