South African boxer, Myolisi Xayo, became a pro boxer back in 2012 and says his journey to that point was amazing

“My career in boxing has been amazing,” said Xayo. “I travelled the world and went to places that I never thought one day I would.”

As an amateur, Xayo attended the World Military Games in India. “I did well even though I did not come back with a medal,” he said. Xayo said that his career highlight so far was his fight against Cristiano de Jesus Ndombassy of Angola. “Even though I was ahead on points in the fourth round, I got carried away and lost the fight with a big blow,” said Xayo.

Xayo will be back in action on the 13th of April in Cape Town and he will be looking to add another win to his 3-3-1 record. “I will be fighting against Journeyman Johannes Salie,” he said. “He is like a big brother to me but as a provincial champion he had to come and show what he is made of.”

Xayo said that he has big plans for his career in 2017. “I want to be crowned as the Pan African Champ in WBA so that I can be recognized by organizations that will improve my chances of getting a shot in a world title,” he said.
