The Year of Francisco Lindor

MLB: Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Indians

FRANCISCO LINDOR- The smile. The swag. The passion. All of these components make up the Cleveland Indians 23 year old shortstop. Francisco Lindor, ¨Frankie¨, is not your run of the mill shortstop however, he is a 5 tool player. In the field he is as reliable as it gets, this because of his quickness and arm strength and accuracy. While in the box he is a sure bet to hit above .300 every year, his power is beginning to show, and he is one of the best baserunners in the entire league. His skills however are not his best characteristics, that would be his passion. Lindor´s passion is shown every game, through his smile and through his effort. In just 8 games this year his efforts are already getting him involved in MVP talks. He is hitting a cool .333, with 4 homers and an AL best 1.250 OPS.

Lindor has been talked about being one of the new ¨faces of baseball¨, but I believe that he is no doubt the new face of the MLB. Last year in the playoffs Lindor had that October swag that ignited Progressive Field. His .310 avg, 2 long balls, .820 OPS and 18 hits over 15 games is just the start to his legacy. Lindor has the Cleveland Indians primed to get back to the Fall Classic, for years to come.
