CAVS DOMINATES GAME ONE

CLEVELAND, OH. - After a first round sweep of Indiana (4-0) the Cavs had a lot of rest time for round 2 of these NBA Playoffs, but Toronto has other plans; moving past the Champs. Toronto who beat Milwaukee (4-2) in a tough series are in ready mode and looking forward for this match as game 1 got underway at Quickens Loan Arena on Monday night.

Cavaliers got off to a hot start in quarter 1 with back -to- back 3 balls by Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love finished off with a steal capped off with a thuderous dunk by King James, Cavs jumped out on 10-0 run to lead 10-3 with 9:12 remaining.

Toronto looks to finally settle down making their shots and getting to the line were able to get back into the opening quarter, but the turnovers allowed the Cavs to open it right back up capped off by J.R. Smith's triple was able to give the Cavs some cushion going on another 10-0 run making it 23-14 with 4:38 remaining.

Cavs defense were all over Toronto just allowing only 4 pts (7-21) from the field while the Cavaliers (11-21) from the field, (4-7) from the arc finished the quarter strong, Iman Shempert got the crowd out of their seats with a monstrous throwdown on Serge Ibaka and the Cavs lead 30-18.

In quarter 2 Cleveland continued to play their way in attack mode getting everyone involved,  great ball movement, finding the open man, and defense put the Cavs up 18. But Toronto showed why their here, big triples by Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry bringing the Raptors within ten, 38-28 with 9:16 remaining.

Oh how things have turned for Toronto, making shots and no turnovers led by Kyle Lowry allowed them to go on a 14-3 run making it 41-36 Cavaliers with 7:07 to go.

Cleveland would not let Toronto's run scare them they pushed back as James find J.R. Smith and Kevin Love for triples and Cleveland pushed the lead back to eight, 47-39 with 5:59 to go.

Toronto had many chances to close the gap but just couldn't score or knock down shots and turnovers pleague them badly while Cleveland keep the pressure on the Raptors hitting shots, pushing the temple offensively, and all around defense as they led 62-48 at halftime.

In quarter 3 led by Compton Sr. High standout DeMar DeRozen helped Toronto go on a 10-1 run to get to 7 pts making it 65-58 at the 8:57 mark but Cleveland adds more punishment as they continue to baffle Toronto's defense scoring inside and out to lead 79-64 with 5:56 remaining.

It's been all Cavs in the quarter, the three ball has been devastating to Toronto. Cleveland seemed like they couldn't miss when it came to scoring but when they did like James it almost wanted you to take a drink, (like a beer) and fans chanting "MVP" as they close out the quarter leading by twenty-two, 96-74.

In the final quarter Toronto tries to cut into Cleveland's lead, P.J. Tucker and Patrick Patterson provided the scoring. But once again turnovers and missed opportunities to score in the paint allows the Cavs to maintain there lead.

Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving entertains the fans with his dribbling skills and Dahntay Jones gave a dunk for the ages for the fans as the Cavs win game one 116-105.

Toronto energy to Start the game was weak. They lack Communication all game which allowed Cleveland to burn them with the three ball and turnovers was key to their loss.

Cleveland came out strong attacking Toronto scoring at will. Lock down defense, hustle, and offensive temple was key to their win.

Toronto look to even the series versus Cleveland in game 2 at Quickens Loan Arena on Wednesday at 7 pm.
