WESTBOOK LEADS THE WAY TO WIN

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. - San Antonio 9 game win streak ended on Thursday night against OKC at Chesapeake Arena. OKC MVP candidate Russell Westbrook got another triple - double (his first against the Spurs and now ties Big Wilt with 31 second all time) as he continues his chase at the NBA great Oscar Robinson for most in a season with 23 pts, 13 rebs, and 13 ast. After the Spurs ended the first period with a one point lead 29-28, OKC kept pace and felt they had a chance of taking the game over after going up 7, 56-49 at the half. San Antonio led by MVP candidate Kawhi Leonard would not let the Spurs go out like that as he hit big shots to keeping San Antonio in the game in the 3rd, but it was not enough as OKC layed the Thunder down and never looked back increasing their lead to end the 3rd 82-71. In the 4th OKC bench came to play led by Doug McDermott 11 points and contributions by Taj Gibson, Andre Roberson 7 pts each, and Domantas Sabonis 6 pts OKC officially took over the game. Spurs Kawhi Leonard suffered a hit to the head and did not return ending his night with 17 pts, 2 rebs, 2 ast. OKC had 5 players in double figures as they went on to beat San Antonio 102-92 and snapped their 4 game losing steak. San Antonio: LaMarcus Aldridge 17 pts, 6 rebs, Pau Gasol 18pts, 7 rebs.
