KALAMAZOO, MI. - Every game is a winding road and with just a few games left in the regular season the Kwings inch closer to that final playoff spot in the Central. Norfolk Admirals had other plans, delay Kalamazoo's opportunity to get into the playoffs at Wings Event Center.

Admirals scored first in period 1 as T.J. Foster (a one-timer - ast by Joey Benik) passed Kwings goalie Nick Riopel for a 1-0 lead. Kalamazoo showed great puck movement as Josh Pitt puts in the puck (ast. by Eric Kattelus and Justin Taylor ) tying the game at 1-1. Kalamazoo takes the lead on a Veteran to Veteran play Justin Taylor wins the face off found Tanner Sorenson (wrister shot ) giving the Kwings a 2-1 lead to end the period.

Kalamazoo took advantage of Norfolk in period 2 as Pitt crashed in on the confusion scoring the goal (his second of the night) in front of Admirals goalie Philippe Desrosiers, Kwings holds a commanding 3-1lead.

Norfolk got back into it early in period 3 as Foster gets his second goal off the skate of Riopel making it 3-2 Kalamazoo. Kwings go up by 2 goals just :47 seconds as Cam Darcy uses the head fake against Desrosiers and angle it glove side for the score and Kalamazoo is up 4-2. Norfolk get the lost goal back on a loose puck by Nick MacNeil keeping them in the game at 4-3. Kalamazoo finally puts Norfolk away as Pitt with the backhander scores the goal and earned the hat trick as Kalamazoo wins 5-3.

Kalamazoo win secure them a playoff spot for the 4th straight year (8 times under head coach Nick Bootland). Kwings looking for a clean sweep of the series as they take on the Admirals one more time at Wings Event Center Saturday @ 7 pm.
