LIONS MAY GO AFTER HIGHTOWER

Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower
?Detroit, MI. - The Detroit Lions are seeking to make some improvements for next season very early according to reports from Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. At the NFL Combine on Wednesday in Indianapolis Lions GM Bob Quinn express the situation on his team and what they're looking for but not sure who. Lions "need more playmakers, bottom line," and that goes for both sides of the ball" says Lions GM. So that now New England will not pick up option on soon to be free agent Dont'a Hightower, would the Lions go after him?. He definitely fits the qualifications that the Lions needs right now to add at linebacker position; a speed rusher that can disrupt any Quarterback's play calling. After all he's still young, the 26 year old Superbowl champion spent all 5 years with the Patriots and had a great season last year with 2.5 sacks per game and Lions GM Bob Quinn has a relationship with Hightower (in New England when Hightower was drafted). Detroit finished in the bottom 5 in defense last season and with free agency opening next Thursday, Hightower could be on that list of free agents looking for a new home. Will he end up in Detroit?.
