PATRIOTS RESIGN HIGHTOWER

NEW ENGLAND, MASS - With all the free agency trades that happened around the NFL, the Patriots were amongst by far a major winner of all.



With adding depth and bolstering their offense with signing of WR Brandon Cook from New Orleans now they turn to their defensive side already acquiring 27 yr old LB Stephon Gilmore they get back their best player in Dont'a Hightower.



Reports speculated that they weren't going to resign the 26 year old but according to ESPN NFL Inside reporter Adam Schefter they have resigned Hightower.



Hightower, who took meetings with both the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers in testing the open market, heads back to New England on a four-year, $43.5-million deal that includes $19 million in guarantees according to reports from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.



He is now the second highest paid Linebacker with an annual salary of $10.875 million second to Panthers Linebacker Luke Kuechly amongst active Linebackers in the NFL
