PITT AND THE KWINGS SWEEP NORFOLK

KALAMAZOO, MI. -Now the the playoffs is secure Kalamazoo got back to business. Winners of 3 straight they're looking for win number 4 and a series sweep of Norfolk at Wings Event Center on Saturday night.

Norfolk started the scoring like in Fridays contest; quick Defenseman Frankie Simonelli shoots a rocket top corner of the goal over Joel Martin. And just like that Admirals grabs a 1-0 lead to start the opening period.

Kalamazoo would not be denied on the 5-on-3 power play Peter Schneider taps in a backdoor feed from Cam Darcy and the Kwings squares the game at 1 a piece.

Norfolk regains the lead when off the scramble Dutra ran it down to cash in and giving the Admirals a 2-1 lead at the end of period 1.

Kwings got going early second period as Veteran Justin Taylor's one-timer gets thru past Goalie Philippe Desrosiers pulling Kalamazoo back tied 2-2. Kalamazoo goes ahead on the power play when Taylor scores his second of the night . While on the power play, Taylor goal ricocheted off the back of Desrosiers and crosses the line Kalamazoo is up 3-2.

Kalamazoo added more in the 3rd, Veteran Tanner Sorenson get the feed from Pitt who was behind the net for a score and it a two goal lead for Kalamazoo at 4-2.

Norfolk kept the scoring close as Trevor Gerling saw the loose puck in and put it into the net, giving the Admirals life in the final minutes at 4-3.

Norfolk pulls their Goalie for a extra attacker but it didn't phase the Kwings as Pitt took the puck to the opposite end and scores the empty netter Kalamazoo wins 5-3.

This was Kalamazoo 4 straight win. Josh Pitt gets his second 4 point game. Kwings win all 4 from Norfolk. Kalamazoo are now 3 points back of Quad City for 3rd in the Central.

Kalamazoo now hits the road to sunny Florida for a rematch with the Florida Everblades at the Germain Arena game set for Wednesday @ 7:30 pm.
