Falcons lose Trufant for the season, who's the next man up?
The Atlanta Falcons were dealt a big blow with the news of losing veteran corner Desmond Trufant for the season with a torn pectoral muscle. Trufant suffered the injury back in week 9 against the Buccaneers and had only practiced on a limited basis since.
Trufant finishes up his fourth season with 1 interception, 2 sacks and 4 pass break-ups. His #1 spot will be taken over by Robert Alford who was also drafted back in 2013. Jalen Collins, C.J. Goodwin and rookie corner Brian Poole will probably rotate in the #2 and nickel positions.
The veteran corner is up for his option year in 2017 and is scheduled to make $8 million dollars.
