Teddy Bridgewater's career in jeopardy

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings got some discouraging news concerning Teddy Bridgewater and it's news that no Owner, GM or head coach wants to hear. They were informed that Bridgewater may never be the same and that he could possibly be done all together.

Bridgewater completely tore his ACL during the preseason and though he was told there was no arterial damage and that he got positive feedback to make a full recovery. It now seems that he will be another promising young talent that could've been. If you remember former 49ers RB Marcus Lattimore who suffered the same injury while at South Carolina, then you know this will be a very tough injury to conquer.

Lattimore was drafted by the 49ers but never got a chance to see his NFL dream come true

Via ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

“Teddy Bridgewater continues to rehab in Minnesota and he is making progress. Nearly two months after he dislocated his knee, Bridgewater is making strides and Vikings officials are pleased with where he’s at. But other doctors around the league know there are no guarantees Bridgewater will be able to return to the type of quarterback he was, if he makes it back to the NFL at all.

As one doctor who’s worked with NFL teams said this week, ‘If he didn’t make it back, it wouldn’t surprise me. This is a bad injury, about the worse knee injury a player can have.’“

As a fan you have to pull for Bridgewater who was passed over in the draft and fought his way to becoming the starting QB for the Minnesota Vikings. Also he watched his mother battle back from cancer. Let's just hope this isn't the end to a productive and promising career.

Praying for a full recovery Teddy Ballgame!
