This Day in History: Warren Moon becomes first QB to pass for 20,000 yards in both the NFL and CFL

Moon would help turn the Run n Shoot one of the most potent offenses in the early 90's

Warren Moon was an underdog coming of out the University of Washington but he quickly used that as fuel as he led the Edmonton Eskimos to 5 consecutive Grey Cup titles. Moon would pass for 21,228 yards during his 6 years north of the border.

Moon would spend ten seasons in Houston but one of his most memorable records in his career came on this day, October 14, 1990 when Warren became the first QB in history to throw for 20,000 in both the NFL and CFL. Moon surpassed this mark against the Cincinnati Bengals as he threw for 369 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 48-17 victory.

Moon was one of the most productive QB's in NFL history and will be remembered for his time as the Houston Oilers QB

Warren would go on to finish the 1990 season with 4,689 passing yards with 33 touchdowns and 13 interception. Houston would finish with a 9-7 record.

Moon would pass for over 70,000 yards during his professional career and throw 435 touchdown passes.
