Tony Romo, Dak Prescott, and The Cowboys

I'd like to start my article saying The Cowboys should have started Tony Romo. They lost at home, playing a rookie quarterback, against one of the best quarterbacks in the game (Aaron Rodgers). Do you remember when Prescott spiked the ball with 40 seconds left on the clock? That was a rookie mistake; a mental error. I'll give credit to Dak for getting them that far. However 40 seconds too much time for Aaron Rodgers. If Tony Romo was in there would The Cowboys have lost? We'll never know. But at this point I feel vindicated for having pushed so hard, for so long, in rooting for Romo. All that being said the future is bright in Dallas.

Dallas was a playoff team with Romo two years ago. When he went down last year, they had playoff talent with no quarterback. The received a first round draft pick and put it to good use drafting Ezekiel Elliot. If they trade Romo for a first round draft pick they'll be ever more stacked. Plus they're  If you don't think Romo is worth a first round pick, see Sam Bradford. If you were Arizona, Buffalo, Houston, or any desperate General Manager whom is trying to keep their job, you would make that trade too. I sincerely hope Romo is traded somewhere where he gets to match up with the Cowboys. Maybe Arizona in the playoffs next year or if it was in East the only playoff match up we'd get is the Superbowl. That seems unlikely. But let's get hyped now anyway! HYPE!

As a tangent, who wouldn't want Romo? Not having a quarterback is worse than overcooked chicken. Look at the last four teams standing in the playoffs. New England (Tom Brady, maybe the best quarterback EVER), Pittsburgh (Ben Roethlisberger, two time Superbowl champ), Green Bay (Aaron Rodgers, the most talented quarterback alive) and Atlanta (Matt Ryan, will probably win MVP this year).  Three of those guys are legitimate MVP candidates, the other is a large slab of man.

We all won with the Dallas Green Bay game though. Aaron Rodgers did Rodgers like things. Green Bay is the hottest team in football right now. I've never been a believer in RODGERS VS DAK or BRADY VS MANNING etc. It's more like The Green Bay Packers' offense vs The Dallas Cowboys' defense. Yet the amount of pressure Rodgers puts on the opposing team is visible both offensively and defensively. There was serious pressure on Dak because if he doesn't score, you know Rodgers is going to put points on the board somehow. Even when Rodgers had 40 seconds I thought, man, if they don't get in field goal range he still has a legit shot at a hail mary. Sure enough Rodgers makes a play that only he can make, putting the ball where only his receiver can catch it. I wonder if the US military has spoken with Rodgers on how he replaced his right arm with a laser cannon.

Have you ever tried throwing a football? Have you ever been chased by a professional football player, in front of tens of thousands of people, on national TV, having to throw at a two foot window which is 36 yards away from you? Can you even throw a football 36 yards? Can you evade NFL defenders? Have you ever provided entertainment on national TV? That's why these guys are paid the big bucks.
