Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas headline a strong pool of free agent wide receivers in 2015

Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver - Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas headline a strong pool of free agent wide receivers in 2015. The star wide receivers were both selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys elected to trade up to pick number 24 to land Bryant. Just two picks earlier the Denver Broncos selected Thomas at pick number 22 out of Georgia Tech.

Now the two star wide outs enter free agency in the same off-season creating a huge buzz around the NFL. The down side to the situation is both free agents are expected to get the franchise tender almost guaranteeing their returns back to their former teams. The exclusive franchise tender would also guarantee both receivers upwards of $14 million dollars next season.

For now though the two headline our list of top free agents at the wide receiver position. Following them up on the free agent market includes a list of talented receivers that include Randall Cobb, Torrey Smith, Jeremy Maclin and Michael Crabtree. Some of the other players on the list include Hakeem Nicks, Kenny Britt, Eddie Royal, Cole Beasley and Cecil Shorts.

Here is a look at our top free agents picks outside of Bryant and Thomas.

Jeremy Maclin: Maclin tops the list of the second tier talent on the market just in front of Randall Cobb. The current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver has had the talent since coming out of Missouri his health has been his main concern. Maclin finished the 2014 NFL season ninth in receiving yards with 1,318 and 12th in touchdowns with 10.

Michael Crabtree: We slot Crabtree just in front of Cobb due to the fact that he had the luxury of playing next to Jordy Nelson along with having Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback. Crabtree is a physical wide receiver who has the ability to move the chains. Despite his down season we expect him to bounce back for a team with a more traditional passing offense.

Randall Cobb: Cobb will get his chance to shine in 2015 for a new team with a small chance he returns to the Packers. The Packers wide receiver finished tied for fourth in the NFL with 12 touchdown receptions to go with his 1,287 receiving yards. Our only concern is with a big time pay day can he be a team’s number one receiver.
