Daniel Akpeyi to Replace Carl Ikeme in Nigeria Super Eagles team

Chippa United of South Africa and Nigerian goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi has been called up by the Nigeria Football Federation  to replace the country's Number 1 choice shot-stopper;Carl Ikeme, after the later sustained an Injury over the weekend while playing for his English Championship side, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Injury had not be considered too serious after Ikeme had to be substituted to in the match against Blackburn Rovers, but the goalie contacted the NFF on Wednesday to intimate the federation of the severity of the injury. This has opened the door for an international resurgence for Daniel Akpeyi who had not gotten a look in since the arrival of Nigeria's New coach Gernot Rorh.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be playing host to the Desert foxes on Algeria on November 12, 2016 at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo in a 2nd group B clash towards the world cup in Russia, 2018.
