Real Madrid will be without their deadly attacking trio of Cristiano Ronaldo , Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema for their trip to play Sporting Gijon.

Bale is being sat out with a calf niggle and his fellow front-men will also be rested for the La Liga clash.

Zinedine Zidane has one eye on the return Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich on Tuesday which Real enter with a 2-1 lead.

The strength of Real's side to face Gijon will be severely reduced as their main attacking threats join a number of team-mates on the sideline.

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas has also been left out of the squad for Saturday's game.

Full-back Dani Carvajal was already ruled out with suspension, whilst fellow defenders Raphael Varane and Pepe are missing through injury.

Zidane will be hopeful his make-shift side can come through against Sporting Gijon to maintain their three-point lead in the table over Barcelona before bringing back the big guns to face Bayern at the Bernabeu.
