Damian Lillard for MVP?
Being a Trail Blazers fan, I love Damian Lillard. He is having the best year of his career so far with a stretch of 39,29,37,31,27,42.
That's really good.I was a bit concerned when he had 13 turnovers in the first 3 games but in the last 3 games he has 4 combined turnovers.
The problem with Lillard winning MVP is that he would have to accomplish a top 3 seed to be considered for MVP. That's not gonna be an easy thing to do when you have the Warriors, Spurs, and Clippers in your conference.
His rivals for MVP would be Kawhi Leonard, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant.
The only real rival is Kawhi though considering Curry and Durant are gonna have somewhat limited numbers being on a super team.I would consider Anthony Davis if the Pelicans weren't 0-6.Poor Anthony Davis.I would also consider James Harden but he is on the Rockets which probably might not even make the playoffs.And Russell Westbrook is in the same boat as James Harden.
Kawhi Leonard is basically a god at this point. Playing with lockdown defense and Kobes offense it's gonna be impossible to stop him sadly.
I doubt Lillard will win MVP unless he averages 35, 8, 8, 2, 0, and makes a top 3 seed. The MVP is definitely going to Kawhi unless he gets injured or Russell Westbrook averages a triple double and makes a top 4 seed.
