Clemson takes over the top spot after Oklahoma struggled to beat Baylor. The Tigers continue their commanding performances even while getting tested early against Boston College. Kelly Bryant has been an impressive replacement for Deshaun Watson, and might be even better than his predecessor. Clemson's defense also makes things a lot easier for their quarterback by dominating the opposition's offense.

Penn State found themselves in a battle Saturday night in Iowa. The Hawkeyes took the lead with 1:42 left in the game, but Trace McSorley capped off an impressive drive by connecting with receiver Juwan Johnson as time expired. Running back Saquon Barkley continues to distance himself from the rest of the backs in the country as he accounted for 305 yards of offense. Penn State's defense also looked sharp, and will determine how far the Nittany Lions go this season.

Well, is anyone surprised by Alabama's performance. Vanderbilt was hyping this game up last week, and the result did not end in their favor. Nick Saban continues to produce wins and make the rest of the SEC look inferior in the process. Right when you think they're going to slip up, they dominate a team and make you rethink your opinion of them. It's what they do, and what they will continue to do under Saban's watch.

Mostly, I'm still shaking my head at Baker Mayfield's comments. Like why? Just beat them and let that be your talking. A team like Baylor is not one that you need to talk trash to. If you've been paying attention to the news, you know they have nothing to lose in this game, and giving them extra motivation is unnecessary. Granted, Baylor couldn't stop Oklahoma's offense, but the game ended up being too close for comfort for Sooners fans.

With USC's struggles, I like Washington as the favorite (for now) in the Pac 12. Oklahoma State's loss also opened the door for Georgia to enter the Top 6. The Bulldogs have been dominant on defense, and held Mississippi State's offense to just 280 yards and just three points. Their quarterback, freshman Jake Fromm, only needed nine completions to get to 200 yards passing. A road trip to Tennessee this week is followed by another road test against Vanderbilt. Georgia is already off to a great start in conference play, but these next two road test won't be easy. Washington is 4-0 after playing a pretty easy non-conference schedule (ok really easy), and beating Colorado on the road. Questions about the offense and the defensive backfield have seemingly been erased, but there's still plenty of season left. I don't see the Huskies being tested for a while, but weirder things have happened in this conference.
