Alabama continues to roll against Tennessee, and the only notable moment from the game came when Tennessee scored their only touchdown.
Nice, Tennessee. Real nice.
Georgia was off last week, but has a huge matchup against Florida coming up. The Gators have won the last three matchups, but that looks like it's about to change. The Bulldogs continue to be Alabama's one challenger in what has been a weak SEC conference. The only question that remains is: What does that mean for these two? There hasn't been much quality competition in this conference, and that might hurt these two if they make the playoff.
Penn State passed test one of three by stomping Michigan. They now turn their attention to the biggest test in this three game stretch when they visit Ohio State on Saturday. The Buckeyes haven't made much noise since their loss to Oklahoma, but that's because there hasn't been anyone of worth on their schedule. Many are penciling Ohio State in the playoff right now over the Nittany Lions. That baffles me to no end. I guess we will find out which of these two teams is best this week.
TCU continues its reign atop the Big 12, by getting a monkey of their back. Kansas has given the Horned Frogs issues ever since TCU joined the Big 12. They erased those concerns by keeping the Jayhawks in negative yardage for almost the entire game. Kansas finished with 21 total yards. I don't think I need to tell you the final score.
Wisconsin continues to ho-hum its way to the Big Ten Conference Championship game, and there isn't anyone in the division that's going to challenge them. Want to know how this conference gets left out of the playoff. Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State all beat up on each other and somehow each end up with two losses but the division leader destroys the Badgers in the Big Ten Championship game. I hope that doesn't happen, but it's a real possibility.
Miami might be the most concerning undefeated team remaining, as their last three weeks have been nail-biters. Syracuse gave the Hurricanes all they could ask for, and late push gave Miami the win. While North Carolina might give them trouble, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame will show how good this team actually is. My fear is that they're still a year away, and a trip to the ACC Championship game is out of the question after the next three weeks.
