Barcelona vs. Manchester City Preview & Prediction
This Wednesday’s Champions League Group C matchup is one of the most anticipated clashes in the UEFA Champions League season when F.C Barcelona hosts Manchester City. The matchup marks the return of Pep Guardiola to the Camp Nou, with the last visit happening during the 2014/15 Champions League Semi-Final when he was managing Bayern Munich.
Barcelona has made a perfect start to their Champions League season by winning the first two matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City has one win and a draw in their first two matches.
Prediction: Barcelona has a strong home record in the Champions League and were undefeated in the last 17 matches at Camp Nou since 2013. 16 of those were victories with 12 straight victories. They do not lose points in the group stage, even when coming against marquee teams. Manchester City has a decent squad, but they are not used with Pep’s philosophy. They are currently winless in their last three matches in all competitions. After drawing with Celtic, they were defeated by Tottenham and drew with Everton. I expect this to continue with Barcelona winning this matchup
