Celtic host Manchester City in a Scotish vs. English club battle this Wednesday night.

Celtic suffered a massive defeat in their first Champions League match of the season. Celtic was defeated by a 7-0 scoreline from Barcelona. However, Celtic has a good record at home, winning four of their last seven games against English sides.

Manchester City started their 2016/2017 Champions League campaign with a 6-0 victory over Steaua Bucuresti in the playoff phase of the tournament. Also, the Blues went on to defeat Borussia Monchengladbach in their first group game of the season. Pep tutored side have been undefeated in all competitions this season.

Team News: Brendan Rodgers will be without Mackay-Steven” due to an ankle injury. However, Jozo Simunovic will also be making is Champions League debut after being inactive from a long injury. Meanwhile, Pep will have two players inactive with the likes of Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne. Both Belgian international players are out due to muscle injuries.

Prediction: Looking at both sides going into this matchup, it makes sense that the Blues will be the favorites in this matchup. However, Celtic is in search of a win after their huge loss against Barcelona. To put this in perspective, expect them to play in Wednesday’s Champion League clash against the Blues (Man City Victory).
