Real Madrid vs. Villarreal Preview & Prediction

Real Madrid defeated Espanyol on Sunday to continue their winning streak of 16 games in La Liga. With Los Blancos undefeated this season and currently in first place with 12 points in 4 league games, they have a 3 point lead over Barcelona and a 6 points gap against their city rivals in Atletico Madrid. Zidane has some questions with his starting XI, as both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are not at 100 percent and remains a major doubt for the midweek match against Villarreal.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Submarines hold on to their undefeated record this season after earning a 2-1 win against Real Sociedad yesterday. It wasn’t an excellent display from Fran Escriba’s squad, but a win is a win and Escriba got the three points. Villarreal will go into this fixture sitting in 6th place with eight points.

Prediction: Villarreal is one of the few sides in La Liga that have avoided massive defeats from Real in past few seasons. In their last games, Real Madrid has won three games while drawing one and losing one to the Yellow Submarines. With the possibility that Ronaldo and Bale miss this contest, the visitors could make this a trap game for Los Blancos. But I believe whichever starting XI Zidane puts out there for the mid-week clash; they have enough talent to win this game. (Real Madrid)
