Weekend Preview: Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all! While I couldn't be more excited for Food and Football, Thanksgiving is now just a reminder of the fact that A&M and UT are too stubborn to play each other anymore. While I could rant for hours about why both schools NEED the game, they usually don't listen to my complaints. Cole is out of town and couldn't put in his game picks this week, but he left me with some words he'd like to share with everyone. "AUBURN SUCKS"

Thursday (Thanksgiving Day)

LSU at Texas A&M

The Aggies are no rookies to a Thanksgiving Day game, and since this old Southwest Conference Rivalry was rekindled with the A&M move to the SEC, LSU is undefeated against us. Early in the year, this game looked like an easy dub for the Ags. Now, it's a scary matchup. LSU is without Fournette, Trevor Knight is starting, and on the road in a hostile environment. Along with that, Kevin Sumlin may be coaching to save his job? Seems ridiculous to me, but yes there are rumors that he needs this game. I think the Aggies pull off a close win, fighting for their head coach and their own pride.

Friday (The Day After Thanksgiving)

Fight the food hangover on Friday with some more football.

No. 6 Washington at No. 23 Washington State

This game is huge. The winner gets a PAC 12 title berth. Washington looked dominant last week, but something about Mike Leach, at home, with a chip on his shoulder has me giving Wazzou the edge. Washington State in a high scoring shootout.

TCU at Texas

It seemed pretty certain that Charlie Strong was unemployed after last week's loss to Kansas, but it turns out he has one final shot to make a case for himself. At home, his players are going to show up and leave everything they have in their tanks on the field Friday evening. I think Texas wins in a close game, but I have no idea if it's enough to save him his job.

Saturday (Michigan-Ohio State Day)

Iron Bowl No. 16 Auburn at No. 1 Alabama

Auburn can hang with them for a few quarters. As in all rivalry games, the best team doesn't always win. That won't be the case this Saturday. Alabama is too good, too deep, and playing at home. Sorry Tigers, but it's going to take more than a second and a 109 yard return to save you in this one. Alabama by 10.

No. 3 Michigan at No. 2 Ohio State

This game is being talked about as competing with the 2006 'Game of the Century' between these two. This has BIG 10 title implications, College Football Playoff Berths on the line, and just as importantly, Bragging Rights for the next year. If you aren't pumped up about this one, you should move to communist Europe where they don't see the beauty in American Football. This is going to be a slugfest, but I think Harbaugh and his khakis walk out of Columbus with a low-scoring, one-possession lead, and take home a College Football Playoff Berth.

Happy Thanksgiving guys. Be a true American and watch AMERICAN FOOTBALL while stuffing your faces until you explode.
