Mr. Clutch 4th Quarter

Celtics star point guard Isaiah Thomas is officially listed by the NBA as 5'9" tall. According to him, that’s a stretch with his sneakers on.  The amazing  part of this season is he is 3rd in scoring in the league where the average height is 6'6".  Isaiah Thomas, "Mr. 4th Quarter", is averaging 28.9 points a game. Some say he's a liability on the defensive end, but I say he's not because he's scoring so fast in the 4th quarter the defender is so spent on defense it takes away from their offense.  When was the last time you saw a guard his height, under 6'0", take over a  game in the 4th quarter like he does?  It's electrifying to see someone his size just take a 4th quarter.  What's amazing is in the 4th quarter Thomas is averaging 10.1 points. Thomas is currently on pace to score more 4th quarter points than any player in franchise history. He’s shooting 49 percent from the field in the final frame and a sensational 45 percent from 3-point range. Comparatively, Pierce shot 41 percent from the field and 29 percent from downtown in the 4th quarter during the 2002-03 season.  Thomas is averaging more points in the 4th quarter than any NBA player in at least 20 years.  The NBA database only goes back to the 1996-97 season on this front, but through 41 games, Thomas is on pace to top names like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Durant and other top names of this generation.
