Bucs hire Brentson Buckner as DL coach

The Buccaneers announced today that they have hired Brentson Buckner as the new DL coach.

Buckner was the DL coach for the Arizona Cardinals the last five season and had a lot of success. While Buckner was the DL line coach in Arizona here are some impressive numbers that should give hope to Buccaneer fans everywhere. Over the five year period from 2013-2017 the Cardinals were:

—7th in the league in sacks with 203

—2nd in rushing yards allowed with 94 YPG

—3rd in total yards allowed with 325/Game

—1st in sacks in 2016 with 48

—3rd in sacks in 2017 with 52

Buckner played 12 seasons in the NFL from 2001-2012 with Pittsburgh, Cinncinnati, San Francisco, and Carolina.

I like this hire as Buckner has had a lot of success in his short coaching career. I’m sure he will have some input as to who the Bucs sign in free agency and draft in April.
