The Approaching Madness

March begins the madness of basketball. The coveted NCAA March Madness, where the nations top 68 college basketball programs face each other in a single-game elimination tournament for the NCAA Championship. It gets pretty challenging to watch every single game during the tournament due to some being on simultaneously on different channels. I can guarantee you this though, you don't want to miss any games where an upset can occur. The Cinderella run is one of the best basketball stories to tell during March Madness. Having an underdog team go deep in the tournament brings a feel-good feeling not only for the team, but for basketball fans. For example, last years Cinderella run team was Loyola-Chicago making it all the way to the final four ultimately losing to Michigan, the runner-ups of the tournament. Loyola-Chicago was a 11th seed in the tournament that brought great joy to all spectators watching them compete. Many basketball analysts didn't expect them to make that deep of a run, which shows the great joy and surprises this tournament can bestow.

March Madness can be filled with unpredictably based on team performances. I am all for the underdog teams giving powerhouse conference teams a run for their money in the closing minutes of a game. Last year the UMBC basketball team, be the first 16th seed in tournament history to upset a #1 seed in Virginia. Every game can go either way for both teams. The nerves will definitely be kicking in for the players, coaches, and even fans once that tip-off begins. Blood, sweat, and tears will be brought to the court every game. Buckets will be made, hearts will be broken, and Madness will take place.
