Adams over Lattimore & Hooker

I can sit here for hours arguing why the Bears should take Adams over Lattimore and Hooker with the third pick in the draft. I honestly believe Adams is the better player and make more of an impact for the Bears. The Chicago Bears love their leaders thats one of the reasons they brought in Glennon and Demps. They are constantly talking about leadership and why not go and get the best leader in the draft.

Adams was a true freshman and was a leader day one for LSU. All of his teammates and coaches constantly say how good of a leader he is. Lattimore has a big question mark about his hamstring which has made him pretty injury prone over the last few seasons. He missed his freshman year because of his hamstring which he had surgery on. He played a little bit in 2015. but it was only seven games. He finally was healthy enough to play the 2016 season where he had success and showed his potential, but he lacks the experience and because of that he never really matched up against top talent receivers to show if he can compete against the high talent guys. Malik Hooker has only one year of experience. He is a raw talent because of that, but like Lattimore is still a solid player, but not worth it for the Bears because the lack of experience. Experience and leadership Adams has them both beat out easily.

Marshon Lattimore is a freak athlete no doubt and showed up last season, but he likes to read the receivers eyes instead of turning his head and tracking the ball which costs him sometimes. No one knows what Lattimore can really do against top talent guys since he didnt really match up against any high talent receiver. I believe he is gonna have a little bit of a hard time trying to slow down NFL caliber receivers for at least a season until he gets used to it once again lack of experience plays a big part. Malik Hooker is a raw athlete just like Lattimore. He lacks good technique especially when it comes to tackling. I think he is a poor tackler who takes awful routes and ends up missing the tackles. He has balance issues and will also get caught guessing instead of reading the player which will lead to some more missed tackles. He is very poor against the run, but against the pass he is pretty solid for someone who lacks experience and is as raw as him. I definitely don't think his first few years he will be a great player, but I believe once he gets his experience under the right coach and system he will have a solid career. The Bears need someone who can step in day one and look like an NFL caliber player and that's Adams but, Adams is to handsy and grabs onto receivers. He is also sometimes overly aggressive which will hurt him.

They all have their weaknesses, but when you look who is gonna come in day one and lead the charge for the Bears thats Adams he has the experience and leadership ability plus overall he is the most balanced DB in the draft. He is solid against the run and is decent against the pass. He will step in and everyone on the team is gonna love him because he is a lead by example type guy. He is a lot more physical than Lattimore and Hooker as well. He also had no penalties in 2016. Adams had his pro day today and ran a 4.33 40 which is great, but thats more like a 4.4 which is still excellent for his size. He ran a 4.56 at the combine so he improved his time tremendously. Can you imagine a safety running at you with that speed and size from 20 yard outs? It just goes to show why hes as physical as he is. To sum it up the Bears would be getting an NFL caliber player day one, great leader, very physical player, and solid against the run and pass. For these reasons he is the best option for the Bears with that third pick. Lattimore and Hooker are just inexperienced and very raw the Bears need someone that is ready now and is a balanced player
